“I tend to think of the act of photographing, generally speaking, as an adventure. My favorite thing is to go where I’ve never been.” – Diane Arbus
I love traveling because it allows me to inspire myself to go to more places where I’ve never been. Yesterday, my friends and I hiked Mount Charleston reaching for the summit for the second time. Last time, we had to turn back because it was too late for us to continue. This time, well, we could not get to the summit. Snow was blocking the trail and one mistake could result in death. we were only a mile or so away from the summit. It was close enough where I was able to see the flags and weather recording equipments using my camera.
- Total distance hiked: 14 miles
- Top elevation reached: approximately 11,000 feet
- Elevation gain: 3,300 feet
We were high enough to the point where low partial pressure of oxygen is lower than usual and may experience altitude sickness. We experienced minor to some altitude sickness, but nothing life threatening.
This panorama image of Mount Charleston is originally 120 (30484 X 3941 ) megapixel. However, due to image size and processing issue, I had to lower the resolution to 30 megapixel (15242 X 1971).
