1st visit was terrific and definitely lucky. Egrets are known for their sensitive environments, yet they let me stay several yards away. This week I was frustrated by the amount of walking back and forth between the ponds. They seemed to not like me at all unlike last week. But the challenge was already excepted. There is no such thing as giving up. I was determined to get at least a shot of egret in relatively close distance.
You may have realized I only have shots of egrets because they are big birds, and they are not too fast while in flight. This week, I wanted something else as well. Something like black crowned heron. I spotted several of them flying near by, but couldn’t find their resting spot. Instead, I was able to capture very fast flying bird, the juvenile white faced ibis. If last week was about the sharpness and detail goodies, this week is about the composition.
